The Idea:

All 154 of Shakespeare's Sonnets performed at various locations in the five boroughs and filmed on DV.

#16 in the middle of Grand Central.

#48 on board the Staten Island Ferry.

#75 on the beach at Coney Island.

#34 in the middle of a crowd leaving Yankee Stadium.

#88 at a falafel stand in Astoria.

All the sonnets, tied together by a common thread: New York.

For Actors:

We will hold an open call on Saturday, July 19 between 9 and 6.

Champion Dance Studios

257 West 39th St. (@ 8th Ave)

14th Floor

New York, NY

We are looking for ALL ages, types, ethnicities, and genders.

If your last name starts with A-M, come between 9AM and 1PM.

If your last name starts with N-Z, come between 2PM and 6PM.

If you can, please send us an email, so we have an idea of how many people to expect.  sonnet@1863inc.org

If you just want to surprise us, you can do that too.

Preparation?  You guessed it: prepare a sonnet.

Please present it in a manner compelling to your peers, not your high school English teacher.  Creativity and interpretation are strongly encouraged.

As a tip, either choose something the other actors won't be

doing, or if you simply must do #16, then make sure you do it better than everyone else.

Total commitment?  Rehearsal time plus 2-3 hours of shooting for each sonnet.

For Cinematographers/Editors/Composers/Crew:

We're interested in working with other young artists.

We work fast, cheap, and we'll trust you to do your job in a fast-paced, collaborative, and (above all) fun working

atmosphere.

If that sort of thing appeals to you, let us know you're

Interested. sonnet@1863inc.org
